Roofing Services on the North Shore
Professional roofing for North Shore homeowners. From Terrebonne to Blainville, we deliver quality roof replacements, repairs, and emergency services.
The North Shore of Montreal, known as the Rive-Nord, stretches from Repentigny in the east through Terrebonne, Mascouche, and Blainville to Mirabel in the west. This rapidly growing suburban corridor is one of Quebec's most active residential construction zones, which means the region's roofing needs include both new construction and maintenance of the extensive existing housing stock.
New residential developments across the North Shore typically feature homes with steeply pitched roofs covered in architectural laminated shingles. These roofs have complex geometries with multiple peaks, valleys, dormers, and large roof areas that require careful installation to perform well over time. Builders often use standard-grade materials and installation practices, which means some newer homes develop roofing issues earlier than expected. We see cases where flashing around chimneys, skylights, and wall-to-roof transitions was not installed to best practices, leading to water infiltration within the first decade.
Older communities in Terrebonne, Repentigny, and Sainte-Therese have established neighborhoods with bungalows and split-levels from the 1960s through the 1980s. Many of these homes have been re-roofed at least once, and the current roofing is approaching end-of-life. A complete tear-off to the deck allows us to inspect sheathing, correct ventilation, install modern ice and water shield, and apply high-quality architectural shingles that will perform for decades.
The North Shore's geography creates specific roofing challenges. The region is more exposed than the island of Montreal, with open terrain that allows wind to build speed across agricultural land and newer developments. Wind-driven rain and snow can penetrate any gap in flashing or sealant, making installation quality critical. Winter conditions on the Rive-Nord tend to be slightly colder and snowier than on the island, with deeper frost penetration and heavier snow loads that roofing structures must support.
Flat roofs are less common on the North Shore than in Montreal proper, but they are found on duplexes, commercial-residential buildings, and some contemporary home designs. We install and maintain elastomeric membrane and TPO systems on these structures, ensuring proper slope and drainage for long-term performance.
